I just smiled and nodded. I didn't want to be a doctor! I wanted to be a banker. Well back then I wanted to be a banker, 10 years before then I wanted to be a postman and when I was 5 I wanted to be a soldier. Look at where I am now... none of the above. I ended up being... Fourfeetnine's boyfriend. Haha
Anyway today I went to see this skin clinic near Imbi by a doctor named Doctor Ting. I was supposed to see him to get some medicine from my pimples. You normally queue up for 3 hours to see him, then he sees you for like 2 minutes and then he gives you the same medicine he probably gave another 300 growing boys that saw him earlier that week.
You can't book an appointment in advance for Dr Ting. You have to call the clinic up at 8.30AM when it opens and then rush to get a number. So at 8.30AM, Rina started calling the clinic up for me but she didn't manage to get through. The line was engaged throughout... you know as if they were giving away free money to anyone who called that number. So about 10AM I decided I was done waiting so I went straight to the clinic. The lady told me that I was the number 56. And I probably had to wait till 6PM or so before I could see the doctor. The clinic was full with a lot of other people waiting.
So there you have it. Every day, people rush to get an appointment and wait all day and pay just to see a skin doctor. Plus you only give them enough medicine for a month so they have to keep coming back to you each month. Damn I would've been so minted.
I should've listened to grandma.

my friend uses some cream from some saloon that worked for acne. maybe you shud try it if you are interested!
Never. Ever. Ever. Encourage your kids to do medicine. Ever.
It's like selling your soul and entirety of your social life to being in the hospital.
5 years of medical school and all you get is minimum wage.
I bet you're probably earning what a doctor earns now. And the plus point is you can spend more time with your princess. Isn't that BETTER, BETTER,BETTER,BETTERRRR? *hey jude playing* =D
if u were a dr, u wouldnt have sit here and blog!
u were working hard in butt wei :P
especially the specialist. Me too, when I visited the skin specialist over here, at least have to wait for one hour and came out pocket is burnt!!!
if you were a doctor, you would be living a different life now! =D

Tim... don't worry about your acne problem. Try the product called "Proactiv". Available in Berjaya Times Square. I'm having the same problem as you, but now I'm seeing improvement.. n it's just less than a week of using.
n thanks alot of the UP tickets. The movie was awesome :)
Not all docs lar bossstewie, that Dr is one of the famous doctor for skin related problems. Had a few friends who been there and miraculously their skin problems cured!
Heh! Kinda similar here though in slightly different ways. My dad wanted me to be a doctor too. I didn't want too.
Now, all I want to do is to be a doctor. Le sigh.
Eh, you also go to Dr. Ting for your acne problem also?
Abi: hahaha yes she is ☺
Joshua: yeah that’s true.. ahh the bright side of things!
恋恋迷湾 : hey you have nothing to be sorry about. The movie distributor made a mistake and last minute changed the venue, resulting in us having to call over 200 bloggers and guests to let them know. Sorry that had to happen but the good news is that you still get to watch it. It was a good movie ☺
mayz: really? Wow.. ok I didn’t realize he’s that famous
starletz: well so far what the doctor is getting me to use seems to work so I’ll stick to that for a while
poor medic: hahahaha I take it you’re a doctor? Haha
anne: hahaha no lar.. I don’t think I earn anywhere near what Dr Ting earns.. but yeah I guess having my job now has its perks
annant: hahaha yea that’s right actually… or I could just have a doctor blog
simple: ahhahahahaha… so skin specialists make the most money…
kenwooi: yeah I know I would .. but I guess I like my life the way it is now. Wouldn’t trade it for the world
junie: hey… thanks for the suggestion but so far the doctor’s medicine seems to be working so I’ll stick to that for a while
jd: really? I didn’t know this doctor so powerful wan!
Huai bin: well I think if you were a doctor you would still be working just as hard as you are now
Haha: hahaha yes I do
LOL. Dr. Ting is really good. i used to wake up at 8am, rush to his clinic at 8.30 and only got to see him after 12 FML.
But after that i also learnt that he's gonna give you the same medicine until u recover, so you dont need to see him so often one. Just buy the medicine straight from the counter can edi.
Dunno abt your case la. You should prolly consult Dr. Ting first before you can do this lor.
yeah, bt then u won't be having whatever awards but just a young lad flooded by books, running rounds, treated like a dog at this age... no life in medicine
whata, that sucks queing up for the doctors appointment!
is it always like that in Singapore health care system? its inconvenient..
go find a better doctor and oh ya
dude, go find a dermatologist rather than a physician.
it saves your time and money!
ha , been there done that
so , i found another better doc
it is near masjid jamek
if u need more info , let me know
NEVER EVER EVER EVER BE A DOCTOR...
6 years of med school ending up with your life dedicated to patient and hospital ....and at the end you get nothing!!
Doc's life sucks to the max!!!
yup, i heard that skin/dermalogy doctors are the doctors that earn the most. maybe i should try to convince my bf to become one too instead of aiming to become a cardiac doctor.
if u are a doctor, u prob wont have the chance to meet the cutest fourfeetnine. =D
hahaha..
Talk about waiting all day, on another note, I was going nuts trying to call Air Asia to change a part of my flight details. Ridiculous, I mean like over 20 minutes each time with music on a loop. I had to do other things, even eat with my parents with my phone on loud speaker in case they picked up. Couldn't get thru. The longest being over an hour. Just madness! And I was trying to PAY them to give them my credit card details so, if not doctor, try owning an airline. Ka ching, you've just won the jackpot!
I dream about you and Aud when I was napping just now. The dream goes like this, I won some nuffnang prizes and I was being invited to go to the party and you treated me so well and Aud jealous XD XD XD..
it's bit lame tho. burh.. =)
cindy, an cardiac surgery will count in 10k, 20k, 30k... so.. cardiac surgeons earn most!
wen ming, u study in aus or russia??
hey, tim! may b u can try 2 consume an organic product. i was like u too but i dont like 2 take medicine coz as u know chinese ppl prefer natural things lo...the organic is from MELILEA. i m 80% well now! :)
We earn peanuts! Unless you go into private practice and wow everyone! :)
My dermatologist is my friend, so I am lucky that I don't have to:
1) pay for treatment and medication
2) barge into his clinic whenever
But then again, it goes both ways! :)
Random, but is the similarity between the Chinese "loke-kun" and the (old) Malay "dukun" for doctor just a coincidence? Haha!
I'm here mostly for the Project 365, to see the picture of the day. Why you stopped it? :(
No post mentioned about it after picture/day 81....
Hi, I think u can also see Dr Tan Lay Peng from TTDI. She's really good and experienced dermatologist. Her clinic's Tan Skin's specialist (i think) can't recall the name.
i swear by dr tan seng giaw (ya ya the dap MP hahaha) and my facialist in kuching.
but seriously, dr tan is awesome.
accutane isn't a long-term solution to acne. On top of that, it's so pricey per one tablet! My younger sis had them before from the dermatologist that you went (Dr. Ting) and she had to rely on the medicine for years. While she was on it, her skin improved drastically, but once she decided not to rely on it, the problem returned to a much worse state. Perhaps, you should try a more natural way - healthy eating? I dunno...
hey tim! i recommend seeing a dermatologist. i went to the one in gleneagles intan medic centre - dr allen. he's very thorough! plus, u dont have to wait for ages. :)
I think my hubby summed up life as a doctor pretty well - we gave up our lives to care for OTHER ppl's parents and kids, whilst our own get the bare minimum attention from us.
Lo-kun not that easy ah...if you were to be lo kun, u cant be boss lah!!
haha, Cheers!! FInd other better service doctor then
Hey Tim. I go to Dr Ting's clinic too. You take a number over the phone rite. To avoid hours of waiting, call up again later in the afternoon to see if it's ur turn. If they nurse say can come now, go an hour or two later. Haha. I hated all the waitings but what to do, he's good.
