Curling Irons are EVIL *Updated

Guess what just happened not too long ago.

I got burnt by a curling iron that looks like this.
Don't ask how, don't ask why, don't even ask who it belonged to...

THESE THINGS ARE EVIL!

I've got a burn blister now for Christmas.
Yes... it hurt. I shouted so loud it sounded as if I was yelling into a huge microphone.

At first I rushed to put toothpaste on it, then once I told my dear mother that I just burnt myself she jumped and said "BUTTER BUTTER... PUT BUTTER INSTEAD TO STOP A BLISTER FROM COMING UP!!!".... so I washed off the toothpaste and put Butter.

Did it help?

Well... you tell me.

Update: I woke up this morning and realized that somewhere in my sleep last night while I was rolling around in bed or something, I burst the blister so this is how it looks like now.
I guess it's going to scar now.

I should learn how to sleep without moving around like a groundhog.

holycrap that thng has a life of its own, how come? did you like, leave ur hand laying on the curling iron for 5 minutes before realizing it was hurting you?

the mic is so cute!! i want one!

and warao... both toothpaste and butter won't help with the burn! it's all myth! ice won't help as well, make sure you remember that for future use :p just run under running water for 15 minutes, should be a-ok after that.

and merry christmas :D

Dear god, that blister is a beast.

On a slightly more helpful note, I got something like that when I burnt my arm on an actual iron. You can treat it using honey, but not the cheap, processed crap so the best thing to do is to keep it clean and let nature take its course. A blister is part of the body's natural healing process, after all :)

Try to resist the urge to poke at it because it will likely get infected and scar horribly. 8D

Oh no, nevermind then! Haha, I guess the only thing now is to keep it clean and show it to your grand children in the future. Curling iron burns are manly battle scars! :P

oh hell..thats the biggest blister i have seen so far. did u put your arm under running water?

and no no dun put toothpaste, butter or mayonnaise unless u plan to eat your own arm fro breakfast Boss! it may contain tons of bacteria and the next day you will find a plant growing out of your arm!

antiseptic and bandage will do just fine..and your scar now looks like a leaf. haha. Merry Xmas!

I once burned the side of my face with my curler (oh the horror!) and it left a dark patch. I found my miracle in a bottle of Vitamin E scar remover. Mine is called Bio-Oil, I am not sure if Malaysia has it, but it works wonders. There is no scar whatsoever left on my face now! I am more careful with the curler now though!

This remedy came a little too late. Tumeric powder actually helps to reduce scarring when applied to burn wounds moments after the accident.,

did you touch the wound with water? how come the "water bubble" SO BIG one.

ITS HUGE!!!

Do you have a "mysterious" STAINED patch somewhere on your bed now?

It'll be interesting to see what the liquid that came out of the blister looks like hor!

poor you!
